National Rendezvous: Registration Is Open

We have received several phone calls and emails to the national office from those who just can’t wait for National Rendezvous registration to open. Well, your wait is over; we are open for business. Click here to register.

National Rendezvous will be held July 7–12, 2024, at Camp Eagle Rock in Eagle Rock, MO. The theme for this event will be “The Call,” based on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. They invited adventurous young men to answer the call to help find a water route to the Pacific. God is inviting young men to adventure with Him.

We will have all the standard events that you have come to expect at National Rendezvous. We will also have some events that can only be found at Camp Eagle Rock.

Evening Services & Morning Devotions

National Rendezvous brings together FCF members from across the country for fellowship, fun activities, and good food. The best times of the event are the morning devotions, evening services, and times of prayer. Friends are made during the day at activities and meals, but brothers forged as you pray for each other around the altar. John Hembree, FCF national coordinator, will be our speaker on the first night. Rev. Rick DuBose, assistant general superintendent of the Assemblies of God, will be our main speaker for the following three services. Come prepared of powerful words from the Lord and amazing times of prayer and seeking the Lord.

Craftsman’s Fair

From its beginning, FCF has featured skilled craftsmen. Rendezvous will showcase these talented members. From clothing to tools to possible pouches to powder horns, members can submit handcrafted items in six categories. The top three entries for both Old Timers and Young Bucks in each category will earn a winner’s ribbon. The top three overall entries will be recognized as “Best in Show.” Get busy on your entries today! You have less than a year to make something spectacular.

Hawk & Knife

The Hawk & Knife venue will be a buzz of activity throughout the event. There will be one 15-station event trail to test your expertise. There will also be ten targets set up for practice and free play. You must provide your own hawk and knife to participate.

Rifle Shooting Extravaganza

All the black powder shooting events will test your ability to shoot fast and straight. Expect some new twists on old shooting standards with some fantastic prizes for the top shots. There will also be a range set up for “fun” shoots. (All black powder shooters must have attended an NRA or NMLRA rifle safety course and present their shooters card.) Shooters must have their own rifles.

Archery Training (adult training)

If you want to get certified as a BAI (Basic Archery instructor), then sign up during registration for the training on Tuesday (July 9). If you want to be certified as a BAIT (Basic Archery Instructor Trainer), then sign up during registration for the Sunday–Monday (July 7–8) course. If you plan to attend the BAIT course, you must at arrive and have your campsite set up by 3:00 on Sunday, July 17, because class will begin at 3:30. Cost for each class is $80. Archery 3D Walking Trail

Try shooting your longbow at various 3D targets at different distances along a walking tail. There will be prizes for the best shooters. If you just want to “fun” shoot, swing by the archery range with your traditional recurve or longbow and have some fun!

Frontier Games & Trades

Participate in games and activities that were present on the American Frontier. We haven’t locked down our trade demonstrations yet, but we are hopeful for iron forging, tanning, leather working, and many more. We will also provide many early American games for the Young Buck to enjoy.

Vittles

The Rendezvous Café is back. So, if you don’t feel like fixing meals at your campsite, you can enjoy your meals at the Café, which will offer fine frontier vittles. The Rendezvous Café meals are optional and not included with registration. The “All Meal Deal” is $125 for fourteen (14) meals.

Top Chapter & Strong Heart Award

Recognition will be given to the top chapter and the top territory at Rendezvous, based on enthusiasm and high levels of participation. The “Strong Heart” award, named for our founder, Johnnie Barnes, will be given to the top performing Young Buck and Old Timer at Rendezvous.

Every activity at Rendezvous will score points toward the Top Chapter Award. This includes participation in the Craftsman’s Fair, chapter games, and other Rendezvous events. The more participation from individuals and the chapter at Rendezvous, the greater the chance to be named Top Chapter.

Stump Preaching

The Stump Preaching event will follow the same criteria as used in the "Short Sermon" category of National Youth Ministries Fine Arts Festival.  Details can be found on the Fine Arts Festival page of the National Youth Ministries website.

Frontier Trek (day hikes)

Have you ever dreamed of walking Camp Eagle Rock property and seeing some of the old homestead foundations, the waterfalls, or the top of Hawkeye Mountain? Join an experienced trekker for a day hike to several of these destinations. Sign up during registration. (No Cost)

Frontier Trek (overnight)

Want to expand your Frontier experience and possibly sleep under the stars? Then signup during registration and spend a night near in the woods of Camp Eagle Rock at a primitive camp that you made. A Frontier Trek Gear List, including period-correct food suggestions, can be downloaded from the FCF website. The Frontier TREK patch will be awarded to all who complete the overnight trek. You will need to prepare and bring food for lunch, dinner, and breakfast. Be prepared for cooking and non-cooking in case of a fire band. Rifles or bows may be carried but will not be shot. (Cost $5.00)

Frontier Adventure

The Frontier Adventure will also be included as part of this Rendezvous for boys or leaders who are not currently FCF members. This means potential members can complete the membership process by participating in the Frontier Adventure and then enjoy Rendezvous as new members! Applications for the Frontier Adventure must be submitted to Mark “Pine Wood” Craft at markcraft@hotmail.com by May 27, 2024. A Frontier Adventure candidate welcome letter will be sent after the application is received, detailing all information and requirements. Cost for the adventure will be $25.00 paid for during registration. Applications and the Frontiersman Workbook can be downloaded from the FCF website.

Buckskin Challenge

Applications for the Buckskin Advancement must be submitted to Mark “Pine Wood” Craft at markcraft@hotmail.com by May 27, 2024. A Buckskin candidate letter will be sent after the application is received detailing all information and requirements. Costs for the Buckskin Advancement will be $30.00 paid for during registration. Applications and the Buckskin Workbook can be downloaded from the FCF website.

Wilderness Vigil

Applications for the Wilderness Vigil must be submitted to Mark “Pine Wood” Craft at markcraft@hotmail.com by April 1, 2024. A Wilderness candidate letter will be sent after the application is received detailing all information and requirements. Costs for the Wilderness Advancement will be $45.00 paid for during registration. Applications and the Wilderness Workbook can be downloaded from the FCF website.

St. Louis Camp

If you are a new member or are joining FCF at Rendezvous and don’t have the period-correct camping equipment, don’t worry. You can stay in the St. Louis Camp and use all your modern camping gear.

Renting Bunks, Cabins, RV Spots

This is another option for those new to FCF or for those who don’t want to bring all their camping gear. You may be interested in renting a bunk in an air-conditioned cabin during Rendezvous. For the first time ever, we will rent the Deaverton cabins and Town Hall on a first-come, first-serve basis. Top bunks are $50.00, and bottom bunks are $75.00. If you want to rent an entire cabin, you must rent all the beds (tops and bottoms) in that cabin.

For the first time ever, we are renting a limited number of RV spots with full hookups. They are $150.00 each.

These rental opportunities will only be available during National Rendezvous. Don’t expect to see this at Camporama. Supplies are limited, so register as soon as possible before they are sold out!

Full-Time Volunteers

We are accepting applications for full-time volunteers at https://nationalrendezvous.com/Details/Volunteers. These positions are subject to approval due to limited full-time opportunities. We especially need two certified lifeguards (max of one can be a minor) to serve during the activity times so that we can have the pools open.
